HONORING THE SACRIFICE FOR FREEDOM WHILE ALLOWING DISCRIMINATION
This is an excerpt from the Patriot Guard Riders Website FAQ's:
CAN I WEAR MY M/C COLORS?
Some Law Enforcement Agencies have a “No Colors” policy for large groups of
motorcyclists. You will be notified of this in the mission thread. Please
respect their request and leave your colors at home. If you are unable to do
so due to requirements of your club, we understand completely but ask that
you stand down for the mission.
If you belong to another riding club please check with them before placing
the PGR patch and pins on your club vest. Many clubs do not allow other
patches and pins on their vests. They may also have restrictions regarding
where you may wear your vest with their patch.
So now MC members will be unable to honor fallen military whenever the LE decide to implement this policy. Just another form of discrimination.....and coming from a group that I originally thought was pretty neat. Strange that the PGR would participate in any form of discrimination, especially while honoring someone who gave their life in the name of FREEDOM.
If enough LE read this, they are going to get to work on adopting that policy right away! It can then apply to all runs, charitable or otherwise. Looks like one to keep an eye on.
